In 2032, Colombia will be one of the three most competitive countries in Latin America, through a dynamic export-oriented economy based on high-value and innovative goods and services, with an adequate business environment that incentives local and foreign investment, promotes regional convergence, improves opportunities for formal employment, enhances quality of life and substantially reduces poverty levels, reaching an adequate per capita income level, similar to those on the high end of medium income level countries.

So far, the CPC has proposed a strategy based on five key elements:

1. Economic sectors with world class productivities, similar to the productivity of the US, sectors that bring solid income and exports, which promote technology leadership and concentrate 10% to 15% of the employment.

2. A network of sectors that are labour intensive and have unsatisfied demand need to create more employment and increase their value.

3. Increase the levels of formality in the economy: today, only 40% of the employment meets formal standards. The formal sector is seven times more productive than the informal sector and hinders the expansion of formal businesses. The goal is that in 25 years Colombia has reversed that ratio so that 60% of the employment meets formal standards.
